A long-term development partnership with Tradeteam/Exel
Tradeteam is the leading independent logistics providers to the drinks industry in the UK and part of Exel, the global supply chain experts.
Amethyst Learning and Development has been working with Tradeteam since 1997 to help develop its people and support Tradeteam's ongoing change in culture. An initial pilot project based in Ebbw Vale (South Wales) established an OCR NVQ Centre to deliver a full range of Distribution and Warehousing, Road Haulage, Administration and Customer Service NVQs.

- The first stage of the project involved training and accrediting a team of assessors and internal verifiers to meet the needs of Tradeteam's locations in South Wales and the South West.
- We then developed an OCR customised award to meet the needs of the business and called it the TVQ - Tradeteam Vocational Qualification. This is a Level 2 qualification aimed at warehouse operatives and delivery crews across the business.
- The project has now gone national, with coaches, assessors and internal verifiers being trained in all the major depots in Scotland, England and Wales.
- Linked with these initiatives, depots in the South East and Wales have committed themselves to being recognised as Investors in People.
